Bush's "surge" has achieved a surge only in casualities of the innocent, and he still plans on pushing even more (relatively untrained) troops into the fray, as well as putting the existing troops on extended tours of duty. When this represhensible debacle is finally over, the troops come home to what? No jobs? broken relationships? Victorian-style medical attention? Pitiful pensions? Not to mention a President who is now blaming his own troops for failed objectives, (which were logistically unattainable in the first place) rather than accepting that the table on the Oval Office used to bear a plaque saying "The Buck stops here" It is refreshing to note that someone has the decency to refer to human costs without reference to their nationalities.

The disconnect comes when the Military is working to gague whether an injured soldier can be rebuilt to the point where he/she can provovide another soldier to ship back, or put them in a que to discharge them to the VA. As bad as some of Walter Reed was, the bureacracy is the worst hurdle, followed by finding different care back home that is agreeable to the VA. Mick knows full well what happens to anything that you put the actuaries in charge of just get all bolloxed up. When they're military actuaries, your most efficient course of action is to take them out behind the building and shoot 'em dead. The soldirs can keep things moving without all the required red tape. More and more civilians and soldiers will die if this government won't stop displaying bold-faced hypocrisies. True, most Americans seem to overlook the biggest tragedy, the deaths of innocent people in that country. " Mission accomplished", Sadam's gone. The deaths started when " WE" decided to stay. He's got to be force to act now, that is, get the troops out and let the UN do it's thing. If he doesn't do it, then both parties must work on his impeachment. Period!. Cheney got to go too. Blatant hypocrisies, shameful and liars. Amen!
